Located in Noble County, Southeast Ohio, Appalachia America
Our family farm started in the late 1800s - early 1900s when our family immigrated to work the coal mines and start their own homestead in America.
Bats Cave is a prominent landmark on the original property that has since caved in, and our name is a nod to our roots.
Over the years we have grown and harvested a wide array of livestock and produce. The farm has been home to beef and dairy cattle, chickens, honeybees, pigs, and goats. We have grown and sold corn, hay, sugar cane, wheat, tomatoes, and much more.
Early on, the dozen-acre farm supported our family almost exclusively but has grown substantially over several generations to hundreds of acres and the products have been brought to the local and state-wide markets.
In the past several years we have refocused to primarily raising and marketing weaning-age feeder calves. Our approach has focused on breeding a healthy, strong, and well-mannered herd of over 80 breeding cows and new, pedigreed, certified Angus Beef bulls to continuously improve our stock.
More and more Americans locally and nation-wide have been realizing the value of fresh food from well-cared for natural gardens and healthy, happy, free-range, hormone-free livestock. We want to bring the local community more into the fold to share in these same benefits.
